Summer Reading Challenge 2017

Happy holidays from Tenerife. I hope you are all enjoying your holidays so far. I have currently read four books in the Summer Reading Challenge. How are you all getting on? My favourite so far has been Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve, this is based in a futurist world where all of the cities have been put on wheels and move around the world eating each other.  What has been your favourite so far?

Remember you can read or share any book from home or from the library.

Happy holidays, be safe, keep reading.

* Teacher Recommends a Read – Mr Sadler *

Over the next few weeks we will be posting up recommended reads from the teachers and other adults around the school. Most of the books are available in the School Library and those that aren’t are available in the local libraries. We really recommend getting a library card and visiting any of the Gloucestershire Libraries.
Mr Sadler Recommends – Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing by Judy Blume
Some people have favourite books that speak to them, and my favourite book does just that. In 1991, I was about to turn 10, when my new head teacher Mr Jones introduced me to Judy Blume – an American author.
Her books were about growing up and my favourite book featured a 10 year old boy called Peter and his annoying brother, Fudge! Mr Jones brought these books to life with funny voices and bags of enthusiasm. I still read these amazing books to the children I teach and my own children.
